The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s career fair takes place tomorrow from 11 to 3.
Cathy Pettid, Director of UNO’s Academic and Career Development Center, says this is the first time the job fair will be held at Baxter Arena.
Pettid says this is the largest career fair UNO has had with nearly 100 employers in attendance.
She says the vast majority of employers are interviewing students in all majors and at all levels, from freshman to graduate students as well as alumni.
Career talks is a new feature this year. Every 15 minutes during the fair, UNO is offering attendees the opportunity to hear about essential skills to have in career development.
"Such as succeeding at networking, what does it mean to be an intern, technology – all students must know to be successful in the workplace, interview tips to land that position and wage negotiation. So we think that’s a terrific addition to the career fair.”
Pettid encourages anyone who is attending to wear professional attire since many employers will be conducting interviews during the career fair.
She says career fair staff will also be taking free photos for guests to use on their Linked In pages.
