UNO's Schwalb Center to Hold "Election Debriefing" Forum

U.S. Election Debrief – What’s Next for U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East? is the title of the next Middle East Forum to be presented by the UNO Schwalb Center for Israel and Jewish Studies.

It takes place tomorrow, Thursday November 17th, from noon to 1 p.m.

Moderating the forum will be Dr. Curtis Hutt, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at UNO, and Special Projects Coordinator at the Schwalb Center.  He says although the focus will be the impact of the US election on the Middle East, they’ll also cover some of the current crises in the area:

“It’s a very, very fluid, volatile situation in the Middle East right now, and maybe people are not as aware of this because they are paying attention to what is happening closer to home, but we are going to try to shine a light on what is happening in the Middle East at this time.”

The Middle East Forum is part of a collaboration between the Schwalb Center and the Islamic Studies and International Studies programs at UNO.

Hutt says at Thursday’s forum UNO scholars will discuss what they think President-elect Trump’s impact will be on the area and then respond to questions from Omaha community members and UNO students and faculty.

The Forum takes place the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center on the UNO campus, and there is parking in front of the building.
