Omaha will host its very own Urban Thinkers Conference November 16th and 17th at the Thompson Center at UNO.
Jay Leighter is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Director of Sustainability Studies at Creighton.
He says the Urban Thinkers Campus is being held in advance of the UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, which will take place next year.
Leighter says the UN wants to gather input on the findings of a document they put together called “The Future We Want, The City We Need…”
Leighter says Omaha’s Urban Thinkers Campus is one of 28 being convened worldwide and is one of three in North America. It is the only one that will address the concerns, needs and opportunities for small to mid-sized cities.
