US Figure Skating Championships Come to Omaha in 2013

The 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships are set for January 20th-27th at the Century Link Center, Omaha.

Spokesman Doug Parrott says single tickets are now available.  He says 350 skaters will be coming to Omaha along with their coaches, choreographers, friends and family.  He says the city’s success with the swim trials of 2008 is what first brought Omaha to the attention of the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

Parrott says Omaha had landed the championships before the U.S. Swim Trials returned in 2012.  He says historically, the championships have been held in cities similar to the size of Omaha.

"They’ve been in Spokane, Charlotte and cities like that in the past, so Omaha was a natural attraction.  But our success with the Olympic Swim Trials and the College World Series clearly enticed U.S. Figure Skating to start talking to us and we were glad we worked out an arrangement.”

Parrott says the main competitions are the Seniors Division in Men’s, Women’s, Pairs and Ice Dance.  Tickets for the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships are available byclicking here.
