The VNA Speaker Series continues with "End of Life Decisions"

The VNA Senior Speaker Series continues next week with the topic “End of Life Decisions,” and is geared toward seniors, caregivers and health-care professionals.

Maintaining independence while remaining safe at home is the series’ focus.  Dr. Howard Edwards, from Palliative Care Associates, P.C, is the featured speaker for this third in a four-part series.

Edwards believes that changing expectations are resulting in better options for seniors.

"You know, for the first time the baby boomers I think are not satisfied with care but are demanding the best care, and I think that is really driving physicians and organizations like the VNA to up their game to provide the best possible care and to look at different strategies to help patients age at home.”

Edwards will cover advanced care planning, how to stay ahead of the medical system and palliative care and hospice.  His talk takes place from 11:30 to 1:00 on September 8th at the VNA headquarters.

A free lunch is included for those who register, but space is limited.  More information is available at theVNAcares.org.
