Voter turnout prediction for Tuesday's primary election

Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian W. Kruse predicts a voter turnout for the 2017 City of Omaha Primary Election of 23 percent.

  

 

The voter turnouts for previous City of Omaha primary elections were 25.5 percent in 2001, 16.6 percent in 2005, 19.2 percent in 2009, and 22.8 percent in 2013.

 

As of March 27, 2017, there were 281,615 City of Omaha residents registered to vote, including 114,672 Democrats, 98,577 Republicans, 3,297 Libertarians, and 65,069 Nonpartisan. A turnout of 23 percent would result in 64,771 votes cast.

 

The City of Omaha Primary Election is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 4th. Polls are open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

 

All registered voters who reside within the City of Omaha boundaries are eligible to participate in the election.
