This weekend, everyone's invited to view, create or purchase art at the Summer Arts Festival.

Omaha, NE – The 36th annual Summer Arts Festival takes place this weekend in downtown Omaha.

The Executive Director of the Summer Arts Festival says highlights include the artists' market, live artist demonstrations and the children's fair. Vic Gutman says the theme of this year's children's fair is "Kids around the World" and all of it will have an international flavor, from the hands-on activities to the food.

He says one of the new features this year is the addition of the Mayhem Poets, a slam poetry group, "and they're going to be working with youth, doing workshops. And then the kids will perform their own slam poetry on Saturday."

The Summer Arts Festival begins at 11:00 a.m. each day. Details are available at www.summerarts.org.
