A campaign promoting Omaha as a tourist destination has resulted in 70 videos so far that highlight the city’s attractions and experiences.
The Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau began “Welcome to the Weekend” in August. CVB spokeswoman Deb Ward says the goal was to highlight what Omaha residents and visitors see as the city’s top destinations and experiences.
Among the submissions in the first round of the campaign were videos highlighting sporting events, a visit to the Henry Doorly Zoo, and the experience of attending a concert. Ward says 12 of the 70 videos became part of ads promoting Omaha that are running in regional markets.
Videos are still being accepted, with more becoming part of promotions next year. More information on Welcome to the Weekend is available at www.omahaweekend.com.
