Woman shot and killed inside NE Omaha home

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say a 41-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a home in northeast Omaha this weekend, and a suspect has been arrested.

The shooting happened Saturday around 4:45 p.m.

Police say Dawn Truman was shot and killed inside the house, but it wasn't immediately clear if the woman lived there.

Truman was deceased when officers arrived.

Her death was Omaha's 43rd homicide in 2013.

Officer Michael Pecha says investigators obtained an arrest warrant Sunday for Latoya Ross. The 30-year-old woman was arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of first-degree murder and weapons charges.
