Women Entrepreneurs Conference Returns Next Month

The fifth annual Women Entrepreneurs Conference will be held in Kearney next month – with the theme Insights, Inspiration, Growth.

The conference is a joint effort of the Small Business Administration and the Women’s Business Center and is aimed at entrepreneurs in rural Nebraska in particular.

Elizabeth Yearwood with the SBA says the Women’s Business Center is a “virtual department” and part of the Rural Enterprise Assistance Project at the Center for Rural Affairs.  She says it has business specialists around the state who assist clients wherever they are located, outside of Omaha and Lincoln.

Yearwood sees the conference as a great opportunity to network as well as learn about many aspects of running a business.

“If you’re thinking about starting a business I think you’ll learn some information, especially on the legal and accounting side. If you’re already in business, then the marketing workshop will be great for you.  Plus, there will be a panel of successful women business owners. I really think that it will be valuable, no matter where you are in your business stage."

The conference takes place April 11th at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Kearney.  Pre-registration is requested by April 4th
