Omaha, NE – The 13th annual Omaha Women's Health and Wellness Conference takes place Friday at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. Sponsored by the Olson Center for Women's Health, the event includes workshops, exhibitions, and several guest speakers.
Lana Molczyk is Coordinator for the Olson Center for Women's Health. Molczyk says each year the conference theme is created based on input from the previous year's post-event survey. She says this year's theme is "Surviving and Thriving: Finding Strength in Difficult Times". She says workshops will focus on a variety of issues including divorce, workplace survival and PTSD. The breakfast keynote speaker is Fred Wilson, a survivor of the 2007 shooting at Von Maur. Molczyk says, "His whole message is about living in the moment because you just never know what might happen in the next moment that might change your life forever."
