WordCamp Omaha 2015 takes place October 10th and 11th at Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha Campus.
Alex Garrison, Lead Organizer, says this is one of many community organized tech conferences that happen all across the country to promote the Word Press open source project.
Garrison says most people are familiar with Word Press as a blogging platform, a way to create websites and web applications.
"There’s a lot you can do with it. I like it because it’s accessible. You can get a website going very easily but also it’s highly customizable. And so you can make things a lot more powerful than simple one-page website but you can do things as simple as that all the way up to more complex things with it.”
Garrison says speakers at Word Camp will discuss topics including website design and development, search-engine optimization for WordPress and how to build a strong, engaged website audience.
