Worker injured during construction of swim trials competition pool

A worker injured Tuesday while working on the decking for the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials competition pool could be released from the hospital today.

Swim Trials COO Harold Cliff says the worker was installing plywood on the deck when he slipped and fell. The worker, a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local Union 42, suffered a concussion and broke two fingers.

MECA spokeswoman Rebecca Kleeman says the worker was conscious when he was taken to the hospital and is expected to fully recover.
