You can do your holiday shopping amidst warm smells of cinnamon and spice and the joyful sounds of caroling.

Omaha, NE – The Omaha Holiday Market takes place December 4th and 5th at Aksarben Village.
Project Coordinator Heidi Walz says the market is inspired by Germany's classic Christmas markets.

She says it's a way to bring the popularity of the Farmer's Market to the holidays, but with a bit of a different atmosphere, "It is a market that is kind of fashioned after the German and European markets. It takes place under two big heated tents. It's about 35 local vendors with some of your favorites from the Farmer's Market so some of the artisan breads and cheeses and jams and jellies. And also some really cool craft ideas and gift items from jewelry and glasswork to photography. So it's a nice mix of different markets and festivals."

The Omaha Holiday Market runs from 10 to 7 on Saturday the 4th and from 10 to 5 on Sunday the 5th. Aksarben Village is at 67th and Center Streets.
