Zesto's opening a downtown location

Omaha, NE – A south Omaha landmark plans to move downtown next year when TD Ameritrade Park Omaha opens.

City officials announced Tuesday that Zesto's will open a location at 12th and Mike Fahey streets, across from the new downtown ball park. Mayor Jim Suttle says the new restaurant ensures a College World Series tradition will continue.

Zesto's co-owner Mike Kelly says the new restaurant will be a year-round operation with sit-down areas. There's no exact timetable right now to have the new Zesto's complete, and Kelly says it could be housed in a portable building next year until construction is done.

Kelly says right now there are no plans to close Zesto's 13th street location next to Rosenblatt Stadium. That location is well known to College World Series fans for its hamburgers and ice cream.
