Neb. official to investigate MECA residency flap

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Secretary of State John Gale says he has launched an investigation into the voter registration status of a member of the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority board in Omaha.

The investigation comes in response to a complaint filed against board member Jaime Gutierrez Mora. Questions have been raised about whether Gutierrez lives inside Omaha city limits, as required to serve on MECA's board.

MECA oversees Omaha's CenturyLink Center, TD Ameritrade Park and the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
