The next Jazz Night in America webcast will present A Jazz Piano Christmas 2014.
Every year, NPR Music invites a handful of the world's top keyboard players to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. We ask them to play some of their favorite holiday music for the audience — solo — and the recording becomes the public radio special A Jazz Piano Christmas.
KIOS kicks off Jazz Appreciation Month in April with highlights of the 2014 UNO Great Plains Jazz Festival with performances from area high school jazz ensembles. This special program airs Tuesday, April 1 at 8:00pm. The festival took place on February 21st at the Strauss Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

KIOS will air the two-hour special The Best of the 2011 Detroit Jazz Festival on Friday August 31st at 8:00PM. Join us for another spectacular showcase of some of the world's finest jazz musicians as they perform at one of the largest jazz festivals in the U.S. Among the highlights are performances by Paquito D' Rivera, Joe Lovano, Jeff "Tain" Watts, and Helen Sung. The program is hosted by Ed Love of WDET and Linda Yohn of WEMU.
