Council Bluffs, IA – An Iowa group is reaching out to voters with disabilities.
Iowans with Disabilities in Action, or ID ACTION, held a voter education and registration workshop Thursday in Council Bluffs. The workshop was designed to help disabled voters understand the process. Attendees also had the chance to practice voting on a machine that accommodates the disabled.
Omaha, NE – Project Vote Smart is bringing its Voter Self-Defense System bus tour to Omaha next week.
The non-partisan organization runs a web site that houses voting records, campaign finance information, speeches, and issue positions of lawmakers and candidates, both state and federal.
Tony Boehm of Project Vote Smart says the bus tour is designed to educate voters about the group's resources. The Project's tour bus is equipped with a small theatre and a computer lab for voters to research candidates and lawmakers.
