The National Weather Service says three tornadoes touched down in southeast Nebraska Monday night.

Two American Red Cross volunteers from the Nebraska/southwest Iowa chapter are headed to Moore, Oklahoma, to assist with disaster relief efforts.

Cleanup is underway in southwest Iowa after a tornado left a half-mile-wide damage path in Thurman.

The National Weather Service in Omaha says the tornado touched down two miles north of Percival, Iowa, and continued in to Thurman just after 5:30 PM Saturday.  The tornado left a ten-mile long path of damage before lifting just south of Tabor. 

Workshop focuses on preparedness during severe weather season

A workshop Wednesday in Omaha focuses on severe weather preparedness at home and in the workplace.

The National Safety Council Nebraska is holding the workshop during Severe Weather Awareness Week. Sunday night, an EF3 tornado damaged homes and businesses in North Platte. This year, Nebraska had its first-ever confirmed February tornado.
